Sir Gawain and the Green Knight

This is another classic seduction story. A gift from the past to the present.

Does hunting equates to seduction then? Apparently so. At least in this well loved classic. :)

While the hubby shoot arrows for the bountiful of preys out there in the hunting-field, the wife's prey was innocently resting right in the castle.

Guys, guys, guys.
Honestly, had it not been a test, were you not succumb to your lust for the beautiful Lady Bertilak?

Love Program

O C'mon! Gimme a break!

A gorgeous looking queen presenting herself voluntarily by your bedside and begged to be shown the affections of your renowned love skills, surely you would not have resisted?

The real power is held by the ladies in the story as far as I'm concerned. The mysterious, unattractive older lady who turns out to be the one who plotted it all. And Lady Bertilak, the powerful opponent who tested poor Gawain to the extreme three days consecutively.

In the end, Gawain has to accept the green girdle out of courtesy and out of fear for his life. Some has associated that to the famous apple scene in the Garden of Eden by Adam and Eve.

I still wonder about the Green Knight. Why green? There are so many explanations and theories out there that I have given up trying to find a reasonable explanation since none offered out there satisfy my mind.

Nevertheless, a really good read and I wish we can find out who the author is eventually. Not knowing the real author somehow leaves you, the reader, feeling somewhat incomplete.

Don't you think so?
